Lastpass for mac desktop1/29/2024 If you are willing to pay for a password manager, LastPass is pretty good, but you might as well choose 1Password or Dashlane, which adds a VPN as part of the package. ![]() ![]() Bitwarden is a solid free and open source alternative. We've been recommending LastPass as a top password manager for a long time, but the new limitations on the free version may be enough for you to look elsewhere. Two-factor authentication is also offered as an optional security measure. All the information stored in the cloud is sent encrypted beforehand. LastPass uses 256-bit AES encryption to lock your vault and a master password is needed to decrypt the data. LastPass Premium costs $3 per month, removes device-type limitations and includes additional features like 1GB file storage and dark web monitoring. This free plan is feature complete, but it limits users to a single device type: PC or mobile. Yes, you can get LastPass and use it indefinitely to store an unlimited number of passwords in your encrypted, secure vault.
